2022 Fall Ball Season

Fall Ball Season - 9/11 thru 11/20

Game Schedules - 2022 Fall Ball Game Schedules

Our District 33 Fall Ball season is scheduled to run, September 11th thru November 20th on Sunday afternoons. With all the information that has been received from our leagues, we have over 140 participating teams in 5 divisions in our 2022 Fall Ball program. This is the first year that have used our District website and Sports Connect as the platform for scheduling the Fall Ball season.

We would like team managers, assistant coaches, team parents, umpires, league admins and anyone who is involved with the 2022 Fall Ball season to register as a Volunteer on the District webpage. By doing so, you will get game reminders, schedule updates and pertinent information emails.  Please only refer to our Fall Ball Game Schedules for the most updated information.

Once you open the 2022 Fall Ball Game Schedule link, look for the drop down tab named “DIVISIONS”, from that drop down box you can select the division that your team plays in.  Once you find the correct DIVISION, then look for the drop down box named "TEAMS", from that drop down box you can find the schedule for your team.

Fall Ball is a time for training and development of players and adult volunteers; Players will learn valuable tools that are important as they move up in a division, are starting baseball for the first time, or want to hone their skills in preparation for the coming spring season. This is also a time to recruit and develop coaches and umpires. All players and coaches are expected to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. We are not keeping track of scores or maintaining standings in the Fall Ball. We are encouraging all managers to use this time to develop players in different field positions especially at pitcher and catcher.  Since many of our leagues do not have access to their fields in the fall, we would like to thank those leagues that have step up and provided their fields for our Fall Ball games. Just because it's not your field, we need everyone to do their part in prepping fields, working snack bars and help providing a good experience for all those involved in our 2022 Fall Ball season.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me.

Sunshine Little League hit with an Unforeseen Loss

Sunshine Little League is mourning the loss of one of their coaches, Eric Carroll. Eric was fatally shot on July 17th. Eric is being remembered as a devoted father and beloved Little League coach. Eric loved baseball so much that even though he didn’t have a child who was old enough to play, he volunteered to coach a Sunshine Little League team. Jose Lopez, president of the Sunshine Little League, said Eric was like a big brother to the players on his team, whose ages range from 13 to 15. “The kids loved him”.

Eric was killed during a joyful time in his life. His family and friends had just celebrated his daughter’s first birthday on July 16th. Eric and his daughter had spent this entire day, their last day together, filled with love, laughs, and the prospect of the future, with him being hopeful to see her grow up to become the wonderful woman that we all know she is one day going to be.

A GoFundMe, https://www.gofundme.com/f/79axtg-mjs-future has been set up for his daughter, Mary Jane (MJ). Please do us the honor of honoring his life by helping to support his daughter. This GoFundMe is to fund all things MJ (diapers, food, clothes, doctor’s appointments, a future college tuition, etc.) All of the proceeds will be going directly to the support and care of her and her alone. Any donations are greatly appreciated, and we thank you all so much in advance.

State of California Mandatory Training and Certifications

As we head into the 2022 Spring Season, here is a reminder that State of California Requires Training and Certifications for Managers/Coaches, Administrators and Sports Officials and must be completed before any engagement with the players. This includes All Managers, Coaches, Umpires and Board Members.  If you fall into one of these categories, you are required to produce the mandatory certificate for each protocol. Please save and carry each of the certification certificates for all of your managers/coaches in your team binder.  Administrators and Sports Officials should carry a hardcopy or an electronic copy with them to all game sites. If you have any questions in regard to this required training, please ask your League President or me.

Concussion Protocol: (Required Once)

1. (a) California law requires that all managers/coaches, administrators and officials must complete an online concussion training at least once before supervising youth athletes; a certificate from a prior season is valid for this season. It takes only about 30 minutes to complete the training.

The online Concussion Protocol Training is at: https://www.cdc.gov/headsup/youthsports/training/.

2.     A concussion and head injury information sheet must be signed by both the athlete and a parent/guardian before the athlete initiates practice or competition. An existing form from the 2020 spring may be used if it’s available. The signed sheet must be carried with the player’s medical release and code of conduct form.

AB379 now requires the same protocols used for concussions in youth and high school sports to be used to help protect young athletes participating in school and community youth sports organizations from sudden cardiac arrest—the #1 killer of young athletes. Community youth sports organizations include an organization, business, nonprofit entity, or a local governmental agency that sponsors or conducts amateur sports competitions, training, camps, or clubs in which persons 17 years of age or younger participate. The online Sudden Cardiac Arrest Prevention Training is at: https://epsavealife.org/sca-prevention-training/
