The 10th Annual CBI Tournament was held Friday, March 31st thru Sunday, April 2nd 2017 at Little League Baseball Western Region Headquarters, Al Houghton Stadium. This was a special weekend tournament that involved 8 regular season major division teams from District 33; La Mesa National Cubs, San Carlos Pirates, Murphy Canyon Patriots, Rolando LSU Tigers, La Mesa National Angels, Lake Murray Marlins, Serra Mesa Cubs and the San Carlos Blue Jays. Great weather was the backdrop for the tournament. The Western Region experience included; teams staying in the dorms, eating their meals at the WR caferteria and playing on the field that is featured on ESPN during the Regional Tournament in August. For many of the kids that have played in the CBI, this is an experience of a lifetime. Congratulations to San Carlos Blue Jays for winning the 2017 Clay Berry Invitational Flag.
