Our annual District Awards Dinner was held on May 2nd at the Riverwalk Golf Course. Our theme for this year was "Disco" and many dressed the part. A special "thank you" goes out to Angela Engquist, D33 Event Coordinator for putting together another outstanding and memorable event.
The majority of our league board members were in attendance. We believe that everyone had a good time sharing stories and getting away from the baseball field for the evening. The Riverwalk Golf Course catering department provided a delicious buffet dinner for everyone to enjoy.
A costume contest was held during the night's festivities, and 10 contestants were judged with applause from the crowd. Congratulations to Ron Ficalora (La Mesa National LL), Damian Scribner (Mission Trails LL) and Eric Kovacs (Tierrasanta LL) for dressing up in our Disco theme and taking home a $50 dollar gift card.
Gifts cards were donated by leagues and were raffled off to lucky ticket holders and a 50/50 draw for $280.00 was handed out to one lucky winner. Congratulations to Jessica Vargas (Rolando LL) for having the winning ticket and taking the cold hard cash from Ron Ficalora.
Clay Berry, Stephen Seefeldt, Ron Ficalora and David Graham, had the honors of presenting the following 2026 awards to these outstanding volunteers in our local leagues.
Be sure to thank the award recipients when you see them at the fields for all their hard work and dedication to the youth of San Diego.
