Our annual District Awards Dinner was held on May 4th at the Handlery Hotel. Our theme for this year was "Gold & Glitter" and many dressed the part. A special "thank you" goes out to Sami Kern, Carol Hill, Nancy Hemmings and the rest of the District Staff who pinched hit for Angela Engquist, District Special Event Coordinator (who could not be in attendance due to a schedule conflict) for putting together another outstanding and memorable event.

We were honored to have Tim Hughes as our special guest speaker and his wife, Chris in attendance for our dinner this year. Tim has worked for Little League International in many roles since being hired in 1975.  He is currently serving on the Little League International Board of Directors. He was the Chairman of the 28th Little League International Congress that convened in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in June 2022. Thank you, Tim, for sharing some memorable stories on growing up just blocks away from the Little League Complex in Williamsport and working for the best youth sports organization in the world.
Gifts cards were donated by leagues and were raffled off to lucky winning tickets and a 50/50 draw for $210.00 was handed out to one lucky winner, Simon Yee from North Park Little League.

Mark Beall, Assistant District Administrator had the honors of presenting the following 2024 awards to these outstanding volunteers in our local leagues. Not all award winners were present at the dinner, some photos were taken at various locations around District 33. Be sure to thank the award recipients when you see them at the fields for all their hard work and dedication to the youth of San Diego.
